Magistrate’s Intake Center

Project Architect with J. N. Pease Architects

This project, which is a part of a large civic/government center, forms the base of an historic courthouse. With the majority of the building’s courts and processing areas below ground, the roof becomes a planted terrace that creates a new entry for the historic structure. While serving up to one hundred people, the air and water systems are concealed and integrated into the natural edges of the terrace walls and the interface with the existing courthouse. These central locations allow for efficient service and operation.
