Pyramids, George Bataille insists, are inseparable from labyrinths. The foundations of these monolithic structures are not solid but are in fact intricate networks of cryptic subterranean passages. While dark labyrinths represent the confusion of earthly, or terrestrial life, pyramids generate escape routes by pointing to the bright light illuminating the world.
Labyrinths capture a cultural and social experience. They speak of melding points, of crossing interactions. Labyrinthine passage plays a key role in the experience of the museum.
A museum should be more than a mere housing of artifacts. While it is impossible to recreate a culture that is over 2,000 years old, it is not only possible, but also more informative
