ARC

Philosophy

The mind-set of ARC is to capture and discover the meaning of place. Meaning as in the lives of people and the history of site. Through a weaving of these two, we seek to realize a built culture. A thing crafted, melodious, and enthralling. You enter the space and never take it for granted. That is architecture.

Architecture today, be it house, school, library, office, is too formula-driven. The world seeks a 'look' that will appeal. Or a thing comfortable.

But life is about phenomena, values, intersections of rituals, as in where the sun hits at 10 am. Or 4.30 in the afternoon. Such things are very specific. They do not resort to formula, nor to the ordering of plans.

Architecture must speak to the domains of culture, even of a civilization. Your life, your work, your place, deserve no less.

Architecture is begun by questioning and realized by dance.

Thus ARC.
